  • SDF formally dissolves into the Syrian army — SDF commander Mazloum Abdi announced on television from the presidential palace in Damascus that the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces have dissolved as an independent military force, integrating into the regular Syrian army under the agreement signed with de facto president Ahmed al-Sharaa. The SDF had been Washington's principal ground partner against ISIS since 2015 — its dissolution restructures the US-backed military architecture in northeast Syria.
